Picturing Text

I recommend this book to everyone that loves design.
This book contains "Looking Closer" a chapter on analyzing visual texts.
And my favorite chapter "Representing Others"

PIcture worth a thousand words.

So last quarter I took advanced photograph class.
We had a quarter long project/portfolio to do.

My project....
so thinking I was all bad ass and stuff i wanted to incorporate editorial design in photograph..
Let me explain...

You have your basic headline picture and headline...and maybe 2-3 columns of text. Instead of using text to describe the headline picture (the biggest one) I would use little images in place of texts to describe it.
It sounded soo cool to me..... but my professor shot it down because it was too designy...and he needs more studio work..
Thanks Jack! no really....it helped my photography skills.

Random babbling sorry....diagrams...and someone mentioning a picture is worth a thousand words in class made me want to write this blog.

Schedules, colors, and everything in between.

on going struggle to find whats right and wrong as far as design for the career development center.

Being able to work on your own concepts for different promotional stuff is great. Time on the other hand will not allow me.
Time is important for all designers, it gives us a way to research and develop fully to convey a certain information properly.

For the next few weeks or so.
Im going to post some things that i have designed for CDC.
This post is open to critique, and other ways to put me down. haha or any helpful advice to break away from bad designing. etc etc this blog has not been proof-approved.
